As a little kid, there's no moment of the year more exciting than visiting Santa—and possibly the only way to take that experience up a notch is by bringing the kid in your life to see their favorite North Pole resident at the zoo. Well, Saturday, Dec. 1, is your day to be a hero, because that's when Zoo Boise will host its annual Claus 'N Paws Free Day, when zoo admission is waved, Santa stops by from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and all of the animals—from the lions and hyenas to the penguins and bat-eared foxes—get presents. If you haven't yet seen a big cat tear open a wrapped box, trust us: It's worth the drive. Plus, kids can get creative with crafts or have their faces painted like their favorite animals. Do the holidays get better than this?
