In the coming days and weeks, there are a few events we don't want you to miss. Read about them below...

Cover Auction

Since 2001 one of the unique ways Boise Weekly has shown our support for the arts is by publishing an original work by a local artist on the front cover each week. In October we gather the 52 works that appeared over the previous 12 months and auction them off at our kick-ass Boise Weekly Cover Art Auction. This year, we're taking the party, which is on Wednesday, Oct. 18, to El Korah Shrine. The auction starts at 6 p.m. sharp and features delicious eats from Bonefish Grill and a no-host bar. New this year, the $15 cover charge goes toward your winning bids but as always, proceeds benefit the artists, the Boise Weekly Cover Auction Art Grant Program and BW's investigative journalism mission. Join Boise Weekly to support the arts, and discover the cover! Ticket are available at boiseweekly.brownpaperticket.com.

Boise Weekly Preview Night at The Flicks

We are partnering with The Flicks on Thursday, Nov. 2, for a magical night of movie-going. For $25 per person, you get a Flicks movie ticket, studio swag, bites from Bonefish Grill and a screening of exclusive previews and clips from highly anticipated upcoming films, with commentary and insight from resident movie fan extraordinaire George Prentice. Seating is limited, so get your tickets now at bwmovienight.brownpapertickets.com/

On Page 11 in this issue, you'll find a treasure map revealing the locations of 60 art studios open to the public during Boise Open Studios Tour Weekend, Friday, Oct. 13-Sunday, Oct. 15. You will be invited into each artist's studio where you can ask questions, observe the process, check out new work and maybe purchase a prized piece—plus, fill up your passport with stamps from 10 artists and you could win an art piece of your very own.
