- Linda Clark
Saying she "abandoned her job," the West Ada School District board of trustees voted Nov. 9 to officially terminate the contract of ex-Superintendent Linda Clark.
In a hastily called press conference, Clark stood before microphones and cameras on Oct. 23 and said the trustees' latest offer to keep her on the job until after the district's levy vote "made me ill."
"They required that I play nice for the next two weeks and then leave my position after the levy," Clark said. "I refuse to be dishonest with this community for a few thousand dollars."
The board of trustees rejected Clark's resignation prior to Monday's vote, instead saying she walked away from her job. Now, trustees are facing a new controversy: a petition has surfaced seeking the recall of Clark's sole supporter, five-term trustee Mike Vuittonet, who himself has publicly supported a separate effort to recall the four other trustees on the board who voted to terminate Clark.
