Treasure Valley futbol enthusiasts will join the rest of the world Wednesday with the beginning of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in São Paulo, Brazil.
While urgency from eleventh hour construction of the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo has raised questions about the conditions of the venues in Brazil, Treasure Valley citizens will have plenty of options to view soccer’s grandest stage.
Several Treasure Valley restaurants and bars say they will be taking full advantage of the opportunity to bring in added revenue through the World Cup’s final match on July 13. Gone Rogue Pub and Ha’Penny Irish Pub and Grill, both in downtown Boise, say they will be opening their doors early with a special breakfast menu.
Other options for viewing the World Cup include: Big Al’s, The Matador, Taphouse, McCleary’s Pub, Yard House, Harry’s Hyde Park Pub, Cottonwood Grille, Brewforia Beer Market, Willowcreek Grill, Lulu’s Pizza, Bittercreek Ale House, The Front Door Northwest Pizza and Taphouse and The Lift Bar and Grill.
The United States will begin play on June 16 at 4 p.m. MT against Ghana.
