Waiting for the World to Change

Candace Nicol. “Waiting for the World to Change” is on display from Sept. 5 through Oct. 12. As a recent M.F.A. graduate, Nicol created this exhibition comprised of etchings, collagraphs and screenprints embedded in layers of resin. Created as a direct response to her experiences growing up within a multicultural, multiethnic family as well as experiences faced after 9/11, the worked represented in this exhibition explore Nicol’s attempt to grasp and understand the duplicity of public fear and prejudice through personal stories and experiences. The artist's lecture is Sept. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the SUB Hatch Ballroom D The public reception follows Sept. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. Free parking available in the Liberal Arts parking lot during the reception.
