Randy Branum, of Sandpoint, admitted his wife told him to cut back on his lottery playing (he confessed to playing as many as 30 tickets a week), but Branum said it's a good thing he didn't listen to his better half. He secretly purchased a Powerball ticket and tossed it—without checking the numbers—in an envelope addressed to the Idaho Lottery Commission.

Spokane's KXLY-TV reports the phone rang at the Branum household about a week later. That's when Branum was told that he was Idaho's newest millionaire.
