Underground Uprising 2, Saturday, Jan. 24, Knitting Factory

by

For the second year in a row, 1332 Records' clan of punk, metal and hardcore acts are creeping up from the underground to storm the Knitting Factory. Though the label's signature showcase night Punk Monday has moved from the now smoke-free Bouquet to BoDo's Liquid, its bands have managed to maintain unparalleled levels of vocal chord-straining badassitude.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, you can join this raucous group of gauged and sleeved fist-pumpers for Underground Uprising 2. The event promises a solo performance by Jason DeVore, singer from Mesa, Ariz.'s reggae-punk act Authority Zero, along with sets from local brooding screamers The Casket Chronicle, punk-n-rollers Aces & Eights, NOFX-influenced Upinatem and growling ska-punkers The Useless.

Hit up the 1332 Records MySpace page, myspace.com/1332records, to check out tracks from some of the bands playing Underground Uprising 2. We hear they're giving away some free tickets to the event while supplies last.

Saturday, Jan. 24, with Jason DeVore from Authority Zero, The Casket Chronicle, Aces & Eights, Upinatem and The Useless, doors at 6:30 p.m., $7. The Knitting Factory, 416 S. Ninth St., 208-367-1212, bo.knittingfactory.com.
