It's a full year before the 2014 election but a retired school teacher says she's ready to run her first-ever political campaign to oust Twin Falls Rep. Stephen Hartgen.

This morning's Twin Falls Times-News reports that Catherine Talkington, a Democrat, says she plans on knocking on every door in District No. 24 to introduce herself. Talkington is currently a part-time education consultant and is a former high school teacher, YMCA business manager and small business owner.

Hartgen has already indicated that he intends to run for a fourth term in the Idaho House. Hartgen, the former editor and publisher of the Times-News, was first elected to the Statehouse in 2008, is the chairman of the House Commerce and Human Resources Committee and sits on the House Environment, Energy and Technology and Revenue and Taxation committees.

In 2012, Hartgen was redistricted into legislative district 24B.
