Adam Jones at The Olympic
Between his sturdy folk-rock tunes, his acerbic, contemplative lyrics and his drawled, sneered vocals, local musician Adam Jones recalled Blonde on Blonde
-era Bob Dylan during his set at The Olympic on March 21. Meanwhile, his band's lumbering grooves and bluesy guitars sounded more like Led Zeppelin than Mumford and Sons.
The ex-Hollow Wood frontman's sound may have changed, but his sense of humor hadn't. At one point, he warned the audience to pace themselves over the next four days, adding, "I'm talking to myself, too. ... I'll be spent by 2 p.m. tomorrow."
