Just a few short weeks after signing the lease on their new location, the forces behind the Boise Bicycle Project
are ready to throw open the doors and celebrate.
BBP will hold an public grand opening from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, July 11 at their new home, 1027 Lusk St., near Ann Morrison Park.
To mark the occasion, BBP is offering discounts on “vintage” and recycled bikes, as well as new and used bike parts.
The night before, the group will host a members-only party and potluck. And, as American Express has touted for years, membership has its privileges. In the case of BBP, that means access to the shop’s equipment and tools so bikers can do their own repairs.
Membership dues go to support the program, which rebuilds donated bikes to give to children, low-income families and refugees. Since it started in 2007, BBP has given away 460 bikes.
