Theft Leads to Frowns

We in Idaho are simple folk. And as simple folk, we sometimes think that we have found that magical loophole that will allow us to beat the system. The schemes rarely pan out, and they often leads to sad-puss mugshots like the one at left. That's 34-year-old Wendy Peterson of Nampa, who officers arrested last Friday, January 5, on charges of burglary and grand theft. The fuzz is sweet on Peterson for stealing $20,000 worth of high-tech items such as external hard drives from Costco stores in Boise and Nampa, and then selling them on eBay. If convicted, Peterson might spend the next few years in close proximity to some far less valuable items--i.e., prison jumpsuits, which are currently selling for around $30 on eBay.
