A little over 90 years ago, the citizens of the United States passed a milestone. According to the U.S. Census, at some time between 1910 and 1920, the population shifted­-more people were living in urban environments than in rural ones. We became a city-folk nation. By 1990, city-folk outnumbered rural-folk three to one, and the disparity continues into this century. But there's something about the elements of rural life that draw many of us toward it, like a magnet pulling us back to some ancesteral home.
