Seconds before breaking ground on its newest health clinic, coming to 14th Avenue and Elgin Street in Caldwell, Terry Reilly Executive Director Heidi Traylor said the nonprofit would begin offering services at the location in no more than 60 days.
Traylor's announcement prompted more than a few attendees at Wednesday's groundbreaking to look around at the huge vacant lot.
"We're bringing in a portable unit in the next few weeks and we'll begin offering care in early September," Trayor told Boise Weekly. "We'll put the portable office in the corner of the lot while the new clinic is being built over the next six to seven months.
With that, Traylor and officials from Advocates Against Family Violence and the city of Caldwell sank their ceremonial gold shovels into the dirt, marking the start of a new clinic that will be part of the so-called "Hope Plaza."
The clinic, which will be the first building to pop up at the campus, will employ 13 staff and offer full physical, dental and behavioral health services.
To date, Terry Reilly Health Service operates eight medical/behavioral health clinics, four dental clinics and three specialty behavioral health clinics in Ada, Canyon and Owyhee counties.
