What could bring together such a grouping? A) The coming apocalypse. B) A tear in the time/space continuum, or C) Potatoes. The answer is, of course, C.
The trio were among the quasi-celebrites promoting the great Idaho spud during the last Spudfest, a family film and television festival held each year in Driggs.
Sponsored by the Idaho Potato Commission, the event also introduced the iTuber video contest, challenging would-be filmmakers to show their devotion to potatoes by posting videos on YouTube.
The three grand-prize winners each won $1,000, and offered everything from a road trip down a potato farming family's memory lane, a pro-potato rap and an opera-singing cartoon potato.
Unfortunately, no one from Idaho actually made the cut. Winners came from McMinnville, Ore.; Orlando, Fla.; and Vancouver, Wash. The top Idaho finishers were Chuck Hurst from Boise and Kevin Larson from Idaho Falls, both of whom were named runners-up. Check out the entries at iTuber.org.
