Regular listeners and guests of the Austin Hill radio show knew all-too-well the talk show host and journalist took no prisoners, but his provocative voice was unexpectedly silenced Nov. 13 when his family said a cardiac-related incident led to his death.
Soon thereafter, social media was filled with messages of condolence and, Monday morning, an official statement from Hill's family confirmed he had died.
In addition to his Boise talk show on KIDO-AM, Hill had previously hosted programs in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Washington, D.C.
"He was committed to speaking the truth and engaging people in thoughtful conversation," read the statement, adding details of a future memorial service were pending. In the meantime, a memorial college fund was set up to support Hill's son, Graham, a high school senior.
