A professor at Detroit’s Wayne State University, Millee Tibbs will be bringing her unique photography that integrates physical manipulation of the paper itself. During her residence, she will be developing a body of photographic work titled Majesty: Made Mountains and Valleys. This project explores the relationship between the sublime and the photographic representation of the American West. The project includes photographs that use physical intervention in the landscape to interrupt the illusionistic space of the image, and multi-media installations incorporating projected images onto kinetic forms to reanimate and expand the still photograph.
