Sockeye's Bacon and Beer Festival

by

The smells of bacon and hops are just two reasons why Boise's Bacon and Beer Festival has made it to four years running. Sockeye's event has exploded, with 25 local and regional breweries and cideries on tap, restaurants competing in a bacon-inspired cook-off, and plenty more. But this isn't the typical beer and food event, and Sockeye has partnered with Cornhole Idaho for a two-person team cornhole tournament. There will be different levels to compete at with prizes, including winning beer for a year. Because of the growing popularity of the festival, a new and improved location is set at Expo Idaho. For other entertainment, there will be yard games and a live DJ. A general admission ticket gets you 15 drinking tokens, a commemorative 5-ounce drinking cup and plenty of bacon.

1 p.m.-5 p.m.; $35-$120. Expo Idaho, 5610 N. Glenwood St., Boise, sockeyebrew.com.
