Toward the end of every year, local and national media are flooded with warnings to drink safely and use designated drivers. Is the message getting through to Boise's liver-impaired revelers? The answer is a resounding "Whaddevah!" Last New Year's Eve, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Department arrest page, 21 people were arrested on charges of DUI by either sheriffs deputies or officers from the Boise, Meridian or Garden City Police. Over last Saturday and early Sunday morning, the number arrested was up 10, to 31. You could say that the number isn't that high, especially for the third largest population base in the northwest. On the other hand, 31 dumbasses is still too many ... you could say. To ogle this year's arrests, visit www.adasheriff.org.
