The city of Boise announced Tuesday it has approved an agreement with the alternative sports event series to host a second qualifying event at Rhodes Skate Park. The two-day event is slated to hit the pipes and rails there Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16.
In 2017, Boise hosted men's BMX, and men's and women's skateboarding qualifiers before the winners participated in the finals in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This year, Boise will host 60 athletes participating in the same events, which will be free and open to the public.
"It's exciting to have the opportunity to continue the momentum of last year's park qualifier event," wrote Boise City Council President Lauren McLean in a press release.
