First comes the business and then the fun at the Idaho Environmental Forum's annual Boise River Conference. The event celebrates both present and future Boise River restoration and recreation projects and begins with a progress report from seven mayors and two county commissioners about projects in their communities. After the presentations by those officials, nine mayors and two county commissioners representing each of the communities participating in the Boise River Trails System Plan, a 63-mile system of pathways from Lucky Peak to the Snake River, will gather for a signing ceremony signaling each jurisdiction's commitment to the project. After the signing, attendees float down the Boise River Trail from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park, where they enjoy live music and food and drink catered by Goodwood Barbecue.
