One of the perks of being a music lover in 2016 is that you can be a fan of musicians as diverse from one another as Eleanor Friedberger and Carly Rae Jepsen without any shame, guilt or loss of street cred. The drawback of being a Boise music lover in 2016 is that both these artists are visiting our high-desert oasis on the same night: Wednesday, March 2.
Let's compare and contrast: We have two unbelievably talented women. Both wear bangs well. Eleanor Friedberger has made sophisticated indie-pop/art-rock as a solo artist and with her brother as one half of The Fiery Furnaces.
On the other hand, Carly Rae Jepsen wrote and recorded "Call Me Maybe," a perfect pop song. She is also responsible for the 2015 bubblegum pop masterpiece "Emotion."
Can't decide? It is a tough decision, but the choice to see one of these two shows is not.
