Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a great show. Thursday, October 27, the Egyptian Theatre opens its big, beautiful doors when Bolin Guitars presents "Rock the House." This show features some hot acts and the proceeds from the big event benefit Idaho's Ronald McDonald House.
Headlining the show is the Carl Verheyen Band, with none other than Carl Verheyen himself. Verheyen is touted as one of the top 10 guitar players in all the world and is a member of the super-group, Supertramp. Along with Verheyen and his band, Jimmy Lloyd Rea and the Switchmasters will be on hand with a master of the harmonica, Kim Field. Special appearances by Steve Fulton, Christine Thomas and David Andrews, and one of Boise's favorite television personalities, Mark Johnson, as emcee round out this night of performances to make it a show of shows. And (this part is so cool), maestro guitar maker John Bolin offers up a beautiful, unique "Howling Wolf" axe autographed by the one and only Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Bidding has already begun, but the auction will be finalized at the event, so there's still time. This is going to be a great show for a great cause. Make sure you're a part of it.
Thursday, October 27. The guitar show is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $24 for the upper level and $29 for the lower and can be reserved at www.ictickets.com. For more concert or auction information, visit www.bolinguitars.com. Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St.
