Risch Passes on IPTV

by

Lt. Gov. Jim Risch has told the League of Women Voters that he'll skip their debate, set to be televised on Idaho Public Television.

Instead, Risch, who is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Larry Craig, intends to appear on one sponsored by KTVB Channel 7.

"He likes the KTVB format better," said Elinor Chehey from the League of Women Voters.

Jason Risch, son of the former governor who has been acting as his spokesman, agreed.

"It's a format-based decision," Risch said this morning.

"The KTVB format has proven to be the best format for undecided voters to judge the candidates' positions on issues," Lt. Gov. Risch wrote in a press release.

This is the second time Risch has skipped out on IPTV. He previously declined a debate against Democrat Larry LaRocco in 2006.
