Local historians and children's book authors take note: Rediscovered Books officially opened its query and proposal submission portal for its new endeavor, Rediscovered Publishing.

The Boise-based indie enterprise plans to publish two to three hyper-local, nonfiction titles each year. People interested in being considered may send a query letter, proposal and information about themselves as authors to The Editors at Rediscovered Publishing, 180 N. Eighth St., Boise, Idaho 83702. No manuscripts will be accepted.

Rediscovered dipped its toes into the publishing business with the release of Half the World: Refugees Transform the City of Trees earlier this month when it assumed publishing fees and some costs associated with publishing the title. Half the World is a collection of stories about refugees who have settled in Boise. Future books published by Rediscovered will be fully under its imprint.
