Keep 'em Busy
Out of ideas for ways to occupy kids home for Christmas vacation? The Boise Parks and Recreation Department has a slew of indoor activities to keep the little ones out of your hair.
They offer arts and athletic classes ranging from painting to ballroom dancing and volleyball. Or try story time for the youngest kids, nature classes, skating lessons and even open gym time.
Registration is ongoing for winter classes, but a full list of activities, including those open for drop-in, is available on the city's Web site at cityofboise.org/parks or by calling 208-384-4486.
The snow is finally falling and the ski areas are opening. And for anyone willing to head east, there are deals to be had.
Grand Targhee Resort just outside Driggs is offering a $10 discount on any full-day adult lift ticket if you show them your 2008-2009 season pass or day ticket from any regional ski resort in Idaho.
The offer is only good on one ticket per day, and you must show photo ID, but the good news is the resort is completely open with 1,800 acres of lift-served terrain. Check out the deal at grandtarghee.com.
