If practice makes perfect, you may experience some kind of nirvana (the state of mind, not the band) on New Year's Eve--but only if you attend Boise Community Radio's Practice New Year's Eve Party at the Bouquet on Saturday, December 2.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and each hour a different musical decade will be celebrated from the '50s through the aughts with a lineup that includes some of Boise's finest musicians, bands and DJs: Kris Doty with John McMahon and Louie Simon, The Universal (a must-see/hear), Steve Fulton, Becca and Rochelle, Christine Thomas, Nollifer, Kritik and DJs Pat Benolkin, Art Hodge, Jason D and AJ Eaton emceeing all night.
Whether you know none of the musicians featured, some or all of them, a better night for dancing will be tough to find. If singer-songwriters are your thing, don't miss the stylings of Doty, Fulton, Becca and Rochelle or Thomas. For something a little more experimental, check out Nollifer, and for full-on female hip-hop/rap, Kritik's set will blow you away. Benolkin creates ethereal tunes and Hodge is one of the best DJs around. The entire evening promises to be entertaining and fun and all the money raised from this event goes to fund the Boise Community Radio Project.
Saturday, December 2, 7 p.m., $6 suggested donation, The Bouquet, 1010 Main St., 345-6605.
