Pocatello Teen Jailed, Accused of Threatening to 'Shoot Up' School

by

Police took a Pocatello teenager into custody Sunday, charging him with posting a threatening comment on Facebook after the Pocatello High School student warned he would "shoot up the school."

This morning's Idaho State Journal reports a friend of the student said he had "absolutely no plans" to follow through on the threat and that the Facebook post was a "joke."

Parents of other Pocatello High students didn't think the alleged threat was a laughing matter and contacted Pocatello police. Officials have not released the name of the student because he is a juvenile, nor did they describe the precise nature of the threats.
