As the summer social calendar continues to fill up, the City of Boise Special Events Committee will gather this Wednesday, May 14 to be briefed on several additional events including:
Ironman 70.4 Boise, sponsored by the World Triathlon Corporation and set for Saturday, June 7. Motorists should note that the world-class competition will impact U.S. Highway 21 near Lucky Peak Dam to Warm Springs Road and Technology Way, S. Eisenman Road near the Boise Factory Outlet, Federal Way from Bergeson Street to University Drive, Capitol Boulevard from University Drive to Front Street and continuing to Ninth Street.
The Father's Day Car Show, sponsored by Fuse Events and featuring 160 vehicles is set for Sunday, June 15 on Eighth Street between Main and Bannock streets and Idaho Street between Capitol and Ninth Street. The event has attracted approximately 12,000 spectators in previous years.
And there will apparently be a new incarnation of the Boise Pridefest on Saturday, June 21. In March, the board of directors of Boise Pride, Inc. voted to dissolve the nonprofit but encouraged others to take the reins to produce a 2014 Pride Festival. Indeed, Valley Entertainment has stepped forward to apply for a city license to hold an event this year. The June 21 celebration is expected to include a fun run, a Statehouse rally, parade on Capitol Boulevard and entertainment in the BoDo district.
