A grimy whiff of the moral rot of convicted-criminal lobbyist Jack Abramoff has already wafted west to Idaho, where both Idaho Congressmen Butch Otter and Mike Simpson accepted campaign donations from the once-powerful Washington insider. Both recently joined other lawmakers in donating the funds to charity. But will Otter go the next step and ask recently resigned House Speaker Tom DeLay, who has deep ties to Abramoff money and is under indictment on money laundering charges, for the $500 Otter donated to DeLay's defense fund?
Otter's press secretary Mark Warbis put it this way: "No." And there you have it.
