The event hosted by Ten Thousand Villages in Boise showcases the results of peace-building efforts and job creation through a fair trade program that began in the 1960s by a Pakistani Baptist minister. The tradition of quality Oriental rug making with original designs is preserved by paying a living wage to Pakistani artisans (men and women equally) who make heirloom quality rugs. The event hours are: Wed., May 13: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Thu., May 14, and Fri., May 15, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sat., May 16, 10a.m.-6 p.m. Attend a free public oriental rug seminar on Thu., May 14 at 7 p.m.
