"I would be warning people to take their grandmother's precious crystal off the shelves and put it on the floor for a few days," Ken Sprenke, geophysics professor at the University of Idaho told the Coeur d'Alene Press. "I think there's a good chance we'll continue to get little temblors like that."
Meanwhile, officials with the Idaho Transportation Department said Friday that they were temporarily shutting down bridges to oversize loads in the Bonner County area until full inspections could be conducted. Inspections were also expected to be performed on the rides at the Silverwood Theme Park in Athol.
KREM-TV reports that a significantly bigger earthquake—6.2 magnitude—hit Bella Bella in the central coast region of British Columbia, Canada on April 23. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said an alert had been issued following that quake.
