North End Bandit Still on Loose

Police have released more information about the man who robbed the Jackon's Food Store at Eighth and Fort streets on August 27. It turns out he was a short guy who wears long pants, carries a short gun and grows long sideburns. Here's a Boise Weekly editor's conception of what the robber looks like:

Note the inward-slanting eyebrows, implying that the he harbors great anger toward the world.

And now, in case that wasn't enough to jar the memory banks, here's an image from the security camera in the store:

Police say the man walked into the store at 10:44 p.m. with what appeared to be a sawed off shotgun and was last seen riding toward the North End on a mountain bike. He is described as being in his early 20s, 5 feet, 4 or 5 inches tall, and 140 pounds, with visible acne scars, dirty reddish-blond hair and epic sideburns. He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark baseball cap and long blue denim shorts. If you know who he is and call CrimeStoppers, there could be a $1,000 reward in it for you.
