National Orienteering Day

When: Sat., Sept. 13, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. 2008

Join the City of Trees Orienteering Club and find out all about the sport of orienteering. The point is to creatively navigate unfamiliar terrain by using a map and compass. Organizers place orange and white control markers at various land features found on a map and these markers act as checkpoints along the course. Most orienteering events offer a competitive division in which the fastest time to complete a given course determines the winner.

Price: $5/person or $7/family or group participating together. FREE to club members.
