Some people like to fish for and eat catfish. Others look down their nose at this "bottom feeder." Still, you have to have a little sympathy for the thousands that have been dying in a mysterious fish kill in the Snake River and upper Brownlee Reservoir. Catfish are floating ashore by the thousands with red spots and sores, and the cause of the die-off has not been determined although biologists suspect disease as other species are not being affected. Officials are recommending that people do not handle or eat any catfish found dead. Right, like we're going to pick up a putrid catfish with a bunch of sores all over it and think, "Dinner!"
