Meriwether Cider House Hosts Service Industry Night, Preps for Full Opening

In January, Boise Weekly readers learned that cider-makers Meriwether Cider would open Idaho's first-ever cider house—one of less than 30 such establishments in the United States. On Aug. 30, the downtown Boise Meriwether Cider House held a service industry event, teasing the official debut of the popular cidery's much-anticipated second location. A full opening will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Unlike Meriwether's location in Garden City, which exclusively serves Meriwether products, the cider house will serve ciders from other cider-makers from across the Treasure Valley and the world—from locals like Cider Sisters to imports from Great Britain, Germany and France—from 20 taps.

Bottles will also be available for purchase; and while the cider house won't have a kitchen, it will stock snacks from City Peanut Shop and patrons will be able to bring their own food. Alas, no children or pets will be allowed inside.
