Meridian Trustee Censured for Electioneering Using Public Resources

A school board trustee in the West Ada (Meridian) School District was formally reprimanded Tuesday night for using public resources to push out her political agenda.

Trustee Carol Sayles was censured by her fellow board members for using a school district email platform to send messages asking voters to support Julie Madsen, who went on to defeat incumbent trustee Anne Ritter. Ritter joined two other trustees in voting for Sayles' censure. The vote took place in executive session.

Sayles has admitted to using the district email account when she sent out her political message.
