Idaho cyclocross racers (the folks who race modified road bikes on dirt) will be doing things a little differently this weekend when they host their Toys for Tots cyclocross race at Sandy Point Beach Park.
The race isn't altogether different from most cyclocross races—picture people with knobby-tired bikes running over obstacles—but with a seasonal twist. The entry fee for the race is one new, unwrapped toy and $7. If you don't have the toy handy, you can still get in for $27.
You don't even need to have a cyclocross bike to enter. Mountain bikes are welcome, they just can't have bar ends on the handlebars. Register online at SportsBaseOnline.com. The race is set for Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.
