Lit for Lunch: The Radium Girls by Kate Moore

Radium, the promising new element of modernity, is painted by young women in factories on watch dials in World War I. Initially envied for their work and importance, the women are then silenced and ignored as the effects of radium emerge. Books are available at Rediscovered Books with 10 percent discount and at the Boise State Bookstore in the Student Union Building, which gives a 25 percent discount.
