Boise Police have received word from police in Pennsylvania that a missing 7-year-old boy who was kidnapped by his mother may be in the Boise area with his captor. According to a tip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Jennifer Anne Kirschner, 42, and her progeny Jacob, 7, may be residing in local shelters and traveling in a gawdy purple Plymouth Grand Voyager minivan with license plate reading EGJ0111. Jennifer may also be using the alias last name of Stanton.
The Kirschners originally went underground on March 12, when Jacob didn't come home from an otherwise routine visit to his weekend-mom's house. She has been reported to have a history of mental illness, and had repeatedly failed to turn her boys over to their weekday dad on other occasions. A warrant was issued for Jennifer's arrest on April 1, and everyone from State Police offices to truckers unions were asked to look for the pair. Boise Police have not located the Kirschners in local shelters, but officers are urging anyone who has seen the pair to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
