K. Tempest Bradford Reading: Pyramids and Punk

Steampunk scarabs come to Boise

K. Tempest Bradford, the November writer-in-residence at Surel's Place, is described as a "fiction author and freelance adventuress...web producer, editor, technology journalist, fashion blogger, podcaster, activist and Internet provocateur" on the Surel's Place website. The only title left out was "Ancient Egyptian/steampunk historian," the hat the Bradford will wear when she reads excerpts from her unfinished historical fantasy novel. The book in progress blends the ancient, the modern and the magical to create "a world where giant copper scarab beetle machines leap from sand to sky and reshape the course of entire dynasties"—and fits in Bradford's mission to learn and teach from the perspectives of others. Drop in before the reading for a reception and stay after for a Q&A.
