From a small town in the Palouse, Josh Ritter started his career infusing evocative storytelling with the raw sound of Americana guitar. Now an internationally known singer-songwriter, Ritter has developed his music into a more eclectic and electrified sound.
While staying true to the wit and honesty of his lyrics, Ritter's new album, Sermon on the Rocks (Pytheas Recordings, October 2015), has a percussive feel filled with organ, bass and electric guitar.
Ritter returns to his home state to perform at Outlaw Field, with new hit songs and a new sound. Opening for the renowned singer-songwriter will be Florida band JJ Grey and Mofro, whose sound reflects both loose rural blues and tough Southern rock.
