Iron Chefs 2: Better Than Iron Eagle II

"Bussssers and hossstesssesss ... It's time for ... the maaain ... course. Again."

Maybe it loses some effect when Michael Buffer (the "Let's get ready to rumble" guy) isn't saying it, but the message is the same: Iron Chef Boise is coming back this Monday at the Big Easy. And this time, it's high-falutin'.

Reigning champion Jered Couch of SixOneSix, fresh (though not in culinary standards) off his May defeat of Westside Drive-In kingpin Lou Aaron, will take on Randy King of Crane Creek Country Club on October 16 at the Big Easy. As of Monday, only three $35 tickets remained, along with a few in the $200 VIP lounge. The choice is clear: RUN! All tickets, of course, include access to the Boise Co-op's appetizer buffet.

Mai Thai 2: Also Better Than Iron Eagle II

Downtown Boise thai haven Mai Thai has opened a clone in Eagle. With the same progressive thai menu as its parent and approximately the same hours (11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for lunch, 5-10 p.m. for dinner Monday through Saturday, dinner only on Sunday), the offspring looks like a chip off the old spring roll. However, Junior has arrived with a beautiful deformation: a Koi sushi bar inside.
