A Kuna man is behind bars facing a felony charge of enticing a minor following an investigation from the Idaho attorney general's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

ICAC detectives zeroed in on the suspect after the victim's mother reportedly told Kuna police she found troubling texts on her daughter's cellphone. The resulting investigation involved ICAC, Kuna police, the Ada County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal's Service.

Thomas Sammons, 39, was arrested June 2 at his Kuna home and booked into the Ada County lockup where he awaits a June 3 arraignment. Detectives said their investigation is ongoing.

It turns out that Sammons was, up until recently, an employee of the Idaho Department of Correction, serving as a guard at the Idaho State Correctional Institution. IDOC officials said Sammons, a two-year employee of the department, was fired from his post in early May.
