Idaho Teen Linked to Robbery, Overdose Sentenced to Five Years Behind Bars

A 15-year-old Lapwai boy will spend as many as five years in a juvenile rehabilitation center for his role in a robbery that also led led to an overdose death in nearby Clarkston, Wash. The teen could have ended up spending a lot more time in jail, but prosecutors ultimately decided to dismiss a first-degree murder charge in lieu of a guilty plea on two counts of first-degree robbery.

This morning's Lewiston Tribune reports Zachary Holt, along with five adults, was charge with murder and robbery in September in connection with an incident at Chestnut Beach, Wash. Prosecutors said the six suspects caused a 19-year-old to ingest a lethal amount of methamphetamine. The other defendants in the case are expected to face their own hearings in Asotin County, Wash., Superior Court next week, according to the Tribune.

Prosecutors said Holt cooperated with authorities in their investigation.
