When: Mondays. Continues through Sept. 15 2009
Submit photos of companion animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, mice, birds and horses depicted in a humane and dignified manner), to be considered for the Idaho Humane Society's 2010 Calendar "Friends for Life" highlighting local pets. One lucky pet will be chosen to represent each of the 12 months. Proceeds from the entry fees and calendar sales, will help support the more than 15,000 animals IHS serves. Entry fees are tax-deductible as allowed by law. All entries will be juried by a panel of local and impartial judges, including Boise "First the Good News" blogger Jeanne Huff, KIVI Channel 6 anchor Michelle Edmonds, Boise State photography professor Jonathan Sadler, Fido Friendly magazine publisher Susan Sims and IHS representatives. Winners will be notified by October 1, 2009. The Friends for Life calendar will be available for purchase by November online and in the IHS gift store. Pet lovers can also pre-order the calendar online with a photo entry. More information is available on the IHS Web site or swing by the shelter for an entry form and guidelines.
