An important deadline is looming for people who want to join the party. Thursday, Jan. 31, is the last day to turn in applications for two of Idaho's most prestigious literary posts: the Idaho Commission on the Arts' Idaho Writer in Residence and its literary fellowships.
Applicants for the Idaho Writer in Residence gig (a job currently filled by Naked Me author Christian Winn) must be practicing writers over the age of 18 who live in Idaho. The award comes with a $5,000 grant, not including reimbursable travel expenses associated with the position. The fellowships are also worth $5,000, with $1,000 "honorable mentions" awards going to other artists at the whim of the judging panel.
