The Idaho Commission on the Arts announced on June 17 the names of its Fiscal Year 2018 grant recipients.

A total of $487,000 will be distributed to 102 schools, museums and arts organizations in 29 Idaho communities. The grants are divided into four categories: arts education, entry track, public programs in the arts, and public art and cultural facilities.

Boise organizations will benefit from a sizable slice of that pie: Ballet Idaho was awarded an arts education grant for $8,363, and a $10,770 public program in the arts grant. Boise Art Museum was awarded grants in three categories totaling $29,178.
Other Boise-based organizations receiving grants include Big Tree Arts (arts education, $2,654; public program in the arts, $2,166); Boise Community Radio Project AKA Radio Boise (arts education, $4,409); The Cabin Literary Center, Boise Contemporary Theater, Boise Philharmonic and more.
