After Agnes Evans discovering her deceased sister's Dungeon Master notebook, she dives into a Dungeons & Dragons adventure. Such is the premise of She Kills Monsters, Qui Nguyen's 2011 play about nerds, tabletop gaming and grief.

SKM initially ran at HomeGrown Theatre from May 24-June 8, and the Boise theater company, based out of the Gem Center for the Arts, has announced that due to demand, it will give the play a second run.

Agnes will again battle monsters on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, June 27, 29 and 30; and Thursday-Saturday, July 4-6, at the Gem Center. Tickets are by $10-$35 donation, and available online or at the door.

Up next for the local company is Men on Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus, a retelling of John Wesley Powell's expedition down the Colorado River in 1869, but with a catch: The characters are played by women and non-binary folks. Its run starts Friday, Aug. 9, and ends Saturday, Aug. 24.
