Historic Northeast Oregon Mining Field Trip

When: Sat., July 23, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. 2016

Join retired Oregon State Geologist Mark Ferns for a field trip through the mining areas of Northeast Oregon. Meet at the WinCo parking lot on Meridian Road at 7:30 a.m. for an 8 a.m. departure. You’ll meet in Baker City on Grove across from the Heritage Museum at 9 a.m. (Pacific Time). You’ll then visit the restored Sumpter Dredge, loop through Granite to Greenhorn and down the Burnt River to Dooley Mountain. Dress for the weather; take lunch and water. Return to Boise by 7 p.m. No preregistration. Hosted by the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology.
