- Comedian, actor and musician Fred Armisen will perform in Boise.
Details about Armisen's visit are scant, but we do know the prolific comedian, television/film star and musician is scheduled to appear Thursday, July 6, at The Knitting Factory. He will be joined by Jacqueline Novak, a New York-based comedian and the author of funny-but-dark memoir, How to Weep in Public: Feeble Offerings on Depression from One Who Knows (Three Rivers Press, 2016).
Armisen's recent television and film appearances include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Michael Bolton's Big, Sexy Valentine's Day Special, Band Aid and The Lego Ninjago Movie. He also stars in the IFC channel mockumentary series Documentary Now! (available on Netflix). In a Season 2 episode titled "Final Transmission," Armisen and comic actor Bill Hader play members of the band Test Pattern in an homage to Jonathan Demme's 1984 Talking Heads concert doc, Stop Making Sense—you can listen to music by Test Pattern at pitchfork.com.
